Terms of Service
LAST UPDATED — JULY 21, 2026These are the terms under which the desk works. We wrote them the way we write everything: plainly, so you can actually read them. By purchasing a package or submitting materials to Launch Headlines, you agree to what follows.
The service
Launch Headlines provides press release writing and distribution packages — The Dispatch ($349), The Byline ($699), The Front Page ($1,299) and The Campaign ($2,499) — each sold as a one-time fee. No subscriptions, no auto-renewals, no charges you didn't ask for. Each package's inclusions are listed on its product page and on our pricing page; those listings are the edition of record for what your purchase includes.
Editorial standards and the right to decline
Every release must clear our editorial review before it goes on the wire. We may decline content that cannot clear that review — and if we decline your release and cannot fix it within your included revisions, you receive a full refund per our guarantee. We would rather return your money than publish something with our name on it.
We will not write or distribute content that is:
- Illegal, or promoting illegal activity
- Defamatory toward any person or organization
- Making misleading financial claims — including unsubstantiated investment returns, token promotions, or "guaranteed" earnings
- Adult or sexually explicit
- Hateful, harassing, or targeting protected groups
Our editors make this call, and their judgment is final. It's their name on the masthead too.
Your representations
When you submit a brief or a release, you represent that:
- You own the news. You are authorized to announce it on behalf of the company or person it concerns.
- The claims are accurate. Figures, quotes and statements of fact you supply are true and can be substantiated. We fact-check what we can, but the underlying truth of your announcement is yours to warrant.
- You have rights to supplied assets. Images, video, logos and any other materials you provide are yours to use and license for distribution.
You agree to indemnify Launch Headlines against claims arising from a breach of these representations. If your "news" turns out to be fiction, that edition is on you.
Deliverables and timelines
Our standard schedule runs brief to wire in the same week: writing in 1–2 business days, your approval with two revision rounds, then distribution with a live-link report within 48 hours of publishing. The Byline and above carry our same-week publishing guarantee, which starts when we receive a complete brief and is paused while we wait on your approvals or materials — the desk can't hold the presses for a source who won't return calls.
We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure), including outages at distribution partners, natural disasters, or other interruptions to the wire. In those cases we complete distribution as soon as conditions allow.
Revisions policy
Writing packages include two rounds of revisions. A round is a single consolidated set of changes to the draft — corrections, tone adjustments, quote swaps, restructuring. What a round is not: a new announcement. If the underlying news changes materially after writing begins (a different product, a different funding amount, a different story), that is a new release, and we'll quote it as one. Additional revision rounds beyond the included two are available at a rate we'll state before doing the work.
Refunds
- Editorial review refund. If your release cannot clear our editorial review and the included revisions cannot fix it, you receive a full refund.
- Premium placement refund. If a guaranteed premium named placement in your package does not land, that portion of your fee is refunded.
- After distribution. Once distribution completes, the product has been delivered — the release is on the wire and cannot be un-published. No refunds are available after distribution completes.
Credit validity
If you purchase a package and aren't ready to run your release immediately, your credit remains valid for: 90 days for The Dispatch, 180 days for The Byline and The Front Page, and 365 days for The Campaign. After the validity period, unused credits expire. Extensions are occasionally granted for good cause — ask the desk before the deadline, not after.
Intellectual property
Once your package is paid in full, the final press release is yours — full ownership, no license fees, no fine-print reversion. Republish it, frame it, put it in the annual report. We retain the right to reference the engagement in anonymized form (e.g., "a B2B software client") unless you tell us otherwise; we never publish client work as a portfolio piece without permission.
Limitation of liability
We guarantee the deliverables named in your package — the writing, the distribution, the named placements, the report. We do not and cannot guarantee earned media pickup beyond those deliverables, search rankings, traffic, or any business outcome. We don't promise rankings — nobody honestly can, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid for the package in question, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
