A press release service, run like a newsroom.
Launch Headlines exists because the press release deserved better than the blast platform. We keep a stylebook, staff a copydesk, and put your news on the wire with proof it ran — the way a newsroom would.
Why the release got a bad name, and what we did about it.
Somewhere between the fax machine and the blast platform, the press release lost its reputation. It became the junk mail of journalism — written like advertising, sent like spam, and measured in numbers nobody in a newsroom has ever believed. Editors learned to delete on sight. Founders learned to expect nothing. And an entire industry learned it could charge for both.
We kept asking a simple question: what if the release itself was never the problem? A press release is journalism's raw material — the dateline, the facts, the quote on the record. Handled properly, it is the most efficient document in media. Handled the way this industry handles it, it is landfill with a headline.
So we built a copydesk instead of a blast tool. Senior editors write and copyedit every release to the same stylebook working journalists use — AP style, inverted pyramid, fact-checked claims, quotes a human being might plausibly say out loud. Two revision rounds come standard, because that is how editing works. Nothing leaves this desk that we would not print under our own masthead.
We are equally particular about the other half of the job. Syndication is not named placement; named placement is not premium placement; and none of it is earned media — any service that blurs those lines is selling you the blur. You will never see an inflated "reach" number in one of our reports. You will see named placements and live URLs, because those are the only two things worth reporting.
One more thing, on the record: we don't promise rankings — nobody honestly can. We promise a release written to a newsroom standard, distributed where we said it would go, and reported with proof. If your release can't clear our editorial review, you get a full refund. That is the whole pitch. We think it reads rather well.
— The Launch Headlines Copydesk
What this desk stands for.
Accuracy over hype
Every figure sourced, every claim checked, every superlative deleted before an editor elsewhere can delete it for you. A release should survive a red pen — ours are written with one.
Placements over reach math
"Reach 75 million readers" means the outlets' combined traffic, not readers of your news. We report the two things that can actually be verified: named placements and live URLs you can open.
Editors over algorithms
Tools make a desk faster; they don't make it right. Every headline, quote and claim that leaves this masthead is weighed line by line by a senior editor who has killed better copy for less.
One family, two mastheads.
Good editorial discipline travels. The family behind Launch Headlines also runs SearchLifters — onsite SEO sprints delivered with the same bias for craft over volume.
The same standard, applied to search
